Why should I support Holy Fire? Holy Fire represents an opportunity to speak to younger generations through powerful Christian music. Currently, most of our audience is listening to secular outlets. Music is one of the most powerful and profound forces that shape our thoughts and lives. It bypasses our normal defenses and speaks deeper into our thoughts than any other medium. By providing the younger generations with musical styles they enjoy but with a strong Christian message, we provide a medium through which they can be reached and ministered to. Why is Holy Fire an internet only station? There are two reasons. The first is that internet broadcasting of both radio and television is the fastest growing means of communication. Internet radio has surpassed satilite radio in both listenership and availability. Holy Fire listeners can use any internet connected device including smart phones, laptops, and iPads. Given the docks available for stereos and vehicles, anyone who wishes to listen will be able to anywhere. The second reason is quite simple: cost. Operating an internet based station requires far less money than a traditional broadcast station. There are no FCC license fees, no broadcast tower to construct, and a meriad of other expenses we do not have. Additionally, our studios can be anywhere that has broadband access. DJ's can work from their homes needing only a computer, microphone, and internet access. Our only real costs are hosting fees, royalties, promotions, and salaries for our staff. Who is the audience for the station? Most of our audience is under the age of 30. Our aim is to play the music they will appreciate and feel connected to. That is one reason for the great variety of musical styles we are playing. We also anticipate a large male following up to the age of 45. Where do we get our music? Our music comes from three sources. The first is the personal libraries of the station staff and their relationships. Our team members have very large libraries of their own. We have also received musical dotations from a number of others and are still receiving them. Finally, local and unsigned artists are sending us their music. Our Assistant Manager, Chris "Bacon" Mitchell, is spending a tremendous amount of time contacting and researching the best in local and independent artists. Their music is perhaps the most important part of our musical library. Does Holy Fire play commercials? No. As a not-for-profit entity, we voluntarily follow all FCC guidelines for religious and educational stations. We can recognize donors and supporters within guidelines. For more information, please email us. Are we a reporting station? Yes. We report our playlist to ASCAP, BMI, and SESAC. When will Holy Fire launch? We are currently in the final stages of fundraising. We have set a goal for initial launch and as soon as that is met, we will begin broadcasting starting with Fully Submerged. |
